AI Transparency Notice

Last updated: 4 October 2026

We use artificial intelligence to help people learn. We think you should know where it is used and what it does.

1. Where AI is used

AI Tutor: answers questions about lessons.
Assignment review: gives feedback on written answers and can decline answers that appear to be pasted from a chatbot.
Arcade: AI judges Prompt Duel entries.
Hackathon: an AI pitch coach and AI pre-scoring of projects, before human judges and votes.
Teachers: generates draft lesson notes from schemes of work.
Course content: some lessons and quiz questions were drafted with AI and checked before publishing.
Voices: the voices of characters such as Zara and the lab assistants are synthetic (computer-generated).

2. Which AI services

We use open AI models run by Groq, with OpenRouter as a backup. AI Lab and Testing Lab vision features run entirely in your browser.

3. What data AI sees

Only the text needed for the task — your question, your answer, or a teacher's scheme of work — along with the lesson it relates to. We do not intentionally send names, phone numbers or emails. We do not use your content to train AI models.

4. Limits

AI can make mistakes or misunderstand. Check important facts, especially for exams. Teachers should review lesson notes before using them.

5. Decisions that affect you

AI assignment review can affect whether an answer is accepted and whether you earn XP, which can affect leaderboards. If you think AI got it wrong, ask your teacher or contact info@aiclubafrica.ng, and a person will review it. This is your right under section 37 of the NDPA and, where it applies, Article 22 of the GDPR.
